    Original Rainwater Pillow 9 x 20 custom size

    The pillow arrived and we layed it out in the space it will ultimately remain for its life. It fit just as we had hoped and now we could begin to complete the framing for the deck.

    Framing for rainwater pillow

    The concrete footers (x7) have been poured & given time to cure. The initial framing has begun that will support the sides of the rainwater pillow as well as the deck.

    Main deck complete, stringers started, Pillow hooked up

    The MoistureShield decking for the main platform is almost complete and one set of the stair stringers have been installed. The Pillow has been attached to all of the downspouts and is ready for a rain storm!

Pillow will fill very quickly, you'll be surprised at how little rain it takes
Lots of different pump options, 1 HP works well for me.
Check with local ordinances to see if an RPZ is required for pressurized system
Ensure you have space for a pump or other method of extracting your water
Trench and connect all your downspouts you will use to collect water
Make sure to let your helpers rest when they get tired.
Use a first flush device in order to store cleaner water.
Trench for the PVC pipes carrying water from downspouts to pillow
Ensure you have enough room for the vent on top of pillow
Make sure you have all the PVC parts you need
Put heavy duty 8mm plastic between pillow and any structures
Build the frame for your pillow. I turned the frame into a deck over my pillow.
